This FREE training helps to assist parents to be thoughtful and understand the challenges and strategies they will need to be successful together with their adoptive or foster children. Develop the ability to discuss together the changes and concerns the relationship will undergo as a result of adoption or foster care. Parents will learn skills to proactively develop strategies that will maintain a healthy relationship as a couple and support their child or children. African American Hair Care. Appearance matters to a child’s self-image and self-esteem. Poor appearance makes your child a target for teasing and bullying. Learn how to properly care for and style your foster or adopted child’s hair and skin. This class will be taught by a licensed beautician and current foster parent. If appropriate, you are welcome to bring your child, especially if you struggle with their hair or skin. Fee: $10/person; $15/twosome. This ARW training is held from 6-8 p.m. at 6682 W.
